Raw, vegan, and alcohol free (or not!), this nutritious delicious drink is the perfect treat to serve your family or guests during the holidays. This recipe calls for you to make your own almond milk which is incredibly easy and fun to do,
especially with the kid’s while they are home during the winter break.
1 cup soaked almonds
3 cups water
3 ounces Medjool Dates, pitted and soaked overnight
2 bananas, frozen, thaw for 5 minutes
1 tsp vanilla
Pinch of salt
optional-Brandy or rum
Soak 1cup of almonds in water over night.
In a separate bowl, soak dates in water overnight.
Blend soaked almonds and water in blender until pureed.
Strain almond mixture through nut bag or strainer to remove pulp.
Remove dates from water.
Blend the almond milk with the rest of the ingredients, including the dates, in blender until smooth.
Serve chilled or gently warmed over low heat.
If so desired, add a splash or two of brandy or rum.
Top off with a sprinkle of fresh grated nutmeg.
